A Little About Me
Hello, I'm Mia Morris, and I'm a musician. Well, I'm a drummer at heart having started drumming when I was 10. Since then, I have developed into a multi-instrumentalist with a love for many instruments including the bass, keyboards, cajon, guitar, melodica, and harmonica.
After I recorded a few drum covers, I realized I wanted to play all the instruments in songs so I could perform the "whole" song. It's been quite a challenge learning all the various instruments, and I still have a long way to go, but I love music...I love playing it, performing it, & writing it. I hope to make music my career.
Like most people, I started learning about music by playing along with some of my favorite songs. I've been fortunate to have the opportunity to take drum lessons from some amazing drummers including Kenny Arnoff, Rich Redman, Chester Thompson, Dane Clark, Wade Parish, Jeffrey Clemens, and Johnny Rabb. My first live gig was with G. Love & Special Sauce in March 2016. Then in the summer of 2017, I was invited to play a song with The Ataris while they were on the Vans' Warped Tour. I was hooked!
Having grown up in Indianapolis, I moved with my family to Nashville, aka "music city", in August 2017 when I was 13. Since then, I have been focusing on my songwriting. I love music, bands and great songs and will continue to post covers, but I also enjoy writing original songs. Watch my YouTube channel for my latest videos, vlogs, and smashups.
